The amount of maintenance obligations: calculus and variability

The amount of maintenance is proportional to the mass flow or the giver and the recipient needs. This means that to calculate the amount due in respect of food, is taken into account not only the needs of the obligee, but also the means available to the obligor considering these effects needs of the obligor, and his own family.

Moreover, food is reduced or increase in proportion to the increase or decrease suffering and needs of the obligee fortune that shall satisfy them. The variation can lead to change if circumstances justify it in the disappearance of maintenance obligations (not to specify them the obligee, or have no means to lend the obligor).

Finally, determining the amount of maintenance is a matter of fact reserved for the trial courts.
